Biography

Anton Micallef holds two doctorates in law, an LL.D. from the University of Malta, where he also lectured International law for over 20 years and a Ph.D. in International law from the London School of Economics, University of London.

Over the last three decades he has practiced International and cross border commercial law. He provides specialist, business focused counsel essential for clients to achieve their business goals through real world advice in challenging business environments across the EU, Middle East and the Eastern seaboard of the US.

Anton Micallef leads a highly proficient and experienced team of lawyers and business consultants internationally who provide advice across the established landscape of commercial law, particularly with an in depth knowledge of the corporate, maritime, transport, aviation, energy and telecommunication sectors. His practice and experience allows him to swiftly grasp a comprehensive understanding of his clients’ businesses and enables him to deliver sound and commercially relevant advice in a timely manner.

In 1989 he was appointed international law consultant to EU government inquiries and since has been involved in advising Government Ministries and Agencies regularly on various legal issues including the drafting of specialized legislation.

In the commercial field ANTON MICALLEF holds directorships and chairmanships of significantly capitalized companies conducting business internationally and as chairman of Valletta Cruise Port Plc, the lead concessionaire for cruise line business in Malta, he authored revolutionary business strategies for the company which translated into milestone arrangements with the key global cruise organisations.

The combination of his legal and business experience affords him the flexibility required to service a large corporation as much as a small business. He invests in the relationship with his clients for the long term and attributes due consideration to the human dimension.
